Victor B. Cline

Brother Victor B. Cline earned his Ph.D. at
the University of California, Berkeley and is presently a psychotherapist specializing in
family/marital counseling and sexual addictions. He is also Professor Emeritus of
Psychology at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah, President of Marriage and
Family Enrichment ( A nationwide seminar group) and author /editor of numerous scientific
articles and books, including the book, "Where Do You Draw the Line? Explorations In
Media Violence, Pornography, and Censorship.' Great appreciation Is expressed for
permission to use materials from Dr. Cline's presentation at the National Family
Foundation Workshop, Pittsburgh, PA, Nov. 1990; in the book "Media: Children and the
Family."
He has 84 publications including
books (on parenting, media, and marriage), chapters in books, monographs, and
articles in scientific journals as well as popular media, plus reviews of
professional books. These focus on media effects (violence and erotica), marital
therapy, parenting, child behavior problems, factors associated with accuracy in
interpersonal perception, judging others, censorship, creativity in scientists,
political extremism, parental attitudes impact on offspring, life history
backgrounds of science achievers, and life history correlates of delinquent and
psyhopathic behavior. Brother Cline is active in the LDS
Church. He and his wife recently completed an LDS Mission.
