FOUNDATION GOALS AND
NEEDS
WHO WE ARE
A private, non-profit foundation that operates through a
volunteer board of directors, working committees, and office staff.
Granted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Services under section
501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
OUR FOCUS
To provide critically needed resources for caregivers to
help meet a growing epidemic of mental illness, addiction and other
emotional problems. These resources are designed to stabilize given
situations by providing publications offering HOPE to the afflicted while
providing practical information, guidelines, and reference guides that can
be used to HELP overcome the afflictions.
OUR MISSION
Reduce the burdens of mental illness,
addictions and emotional problems and increase mental health.
OUR OBJECTIVES
1. Provide and maintain one of the worlds finest libraries of information
to stop the growing pandemic of mental illness, addictions and emotional
problems.
2. Provide helpful resources for parents, caregivers, religious leaders,
professionals and friends of the mental and emotionally ill.
3. Provide easily accessible and beneficial Website, Guidebooks,
Publications, Group training and speakers.
4. Provide and continue to identify, develop and evaluate the very best
faith based mental Illness resources to those in need.
5. Provide an awareness of mental and emotional illness crises in our
communities.
OUR GOALS
First, to meet a growing need for faith-based resources
to assist caregivers at all levels in helping individuals afflicted with
mental health issues, divorce, suicide, same-gender attraction,
addictions, and other social and emotional problems.
Second, to increase public awareness of the growing epidemic through
energizing local inter-faith councils, civic clubs, social services
agencies, churches, and media outlets in a common effort to slow the
spread of these destructive problems.
Third, to maintain and operate one of the world's finest libraries
containing the latest materials available to provide information and
resources in all areas of mental, social, and emotional problems.
RESULTS TO DATE
The Foundation has published
books on mental health concerns, addiction, and suicide. The Foundation
recently created and published guidebooks to be used by clergy and
caregivers for dealing with mental illness, alcohol and drug addiction,
and pornography which are ready to be distributed through the United
States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Foundation is currently networking with
community, church, university, and media outlets to bring unity of effort
against the rising tide of mental illness, social, and emotional problems.
The Foundation website (MentalHealthLibrary.info) has been up and running
for 6 years and has been visited by persons from over 80 countries, with
over 15,000 resources consisting of information and articles by noted
authorities in ten different languages. The "Ask The Librarian" discussion
board and an electronic newsletter subscription is available for
foundation updates.
